Hong Kong to launch new commodities exchange

The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (HKMEx) will seek to bridge the gap between China and international commodities markets by providing an efficient and transparent pricing platform for end-users and the global trading community.

It will offer tailor-made contracts enabling participants to hedge pricing risks in China and across the region, and intends to offer lower transaction costs in a bid to increase participation by Chinese commodities traders.
