Analytics become top priority at energy firms, poll finds

Middle office still grappling with use of blockchain and artificial intelligence

Developing analytics platforms topped a list of IT projects that will be most required by energy traders and risk managers in the next 12 months.

Energy Risk’s annual software survey, which polled 170 energy risk managers, traders, consultants and IT professionals globally, placed analytics development ahead of upgrading commodity trading and risk management (CTRM) systems and moving to the cloud (see table A).
