Statoil and Alex Kvaerner swap chief executives

Lund will not start in his new role until August 15, and Erling Overland will be acting CEO until then. This is because Kvaerner is a big supplier to Statoil, and this delay is one way of creating a certain distance between Lund’s holding the two posts, said Statoil spokeswoman Wenche Skorge.

When asked why Hansen was not made permanent CEO at Statoil, Skorge said the company felt that while Hansen was a strong candidate, Lund was more suitable.
