Acer reappoints Pototschnig for three-year term

Alberto Pototschnig, the director of the Slovenia-based Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (Acer), has been reappointed for a three-year term, commencing on September 16.

Pototschnig has served as head of the European Union agency since 2010, when it was first established under the Third Energy Package, a bundle of EU law that aims to create a unified internal energy market.

Acer's main responsibilities include overseeing measures aimed at bringing Europe's power and gas markets
