US companies fined for sharing gas storage data

Virginia-based Dominion Resources, Nicor in Illinois and Indiana-based NiSource admitted that they shared commercially sensitive gas storage information with their affiliates and favoured customers. This non-public information had commercial value because it helped traders anticipate gas storage transportation volumes, which would affect gas prices and operational decisions, said Ferc.
