Experts doubt impact from environmental study on gas prices

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has asked nine natural gas service companies for more information about hydraulic fracturing (HF), a method used to recover natural gas from coalbeds and shale gas formations. The agency wants information on the chemicals and extraction methods used by the companies as part of an impact assessment on drinking water and the public health of Americans living near wells using HF.
