Nymex appeals Ice ruling

The September 30 court decision allowing the Intercontinental Exchange (Ice) to use New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) settlement prices for Ice derivative contracts has been welcomed by energy market players as very positive for the market.

"It has huge implications and is good for market transparency," says Paul Newman, London-based managing director of energy brokerage Icap Energy.
