Malaysia requires price transparency, says Fitch

Transparent power price-setting formulas and methods could enhance market predictabilityand bolter the credit position of Malaysia’s dominant utility, Tenaga NasionalBerhad, says an October report from rating agency Fitch. Reform would also benefitthe country’s largest independent power producers, such as Malakoff, YTLPower and Powertek. But Malaysia is unlikely to reform the sector, the ratingagency adds.
