CFTC to examine metals trading

The meeting follows a similar examination of energy markets that began in July 2009 with three public meetings and culminated in a proposal by the CFTC in January 2010 to impose position limits on certain energy contracts.

During the meetings last summer, CFTC chairman Gary Gensler said the commission intended to look at the need to set federal position limits on trading in all commodities of finite supply.
