US coal states rally against EPA’s greenhouse gases plan

The legislation would prevent the EPA from taking regulatory action on this issue for up to two years, and would ensure no stationary source is subject to any requirement to obtain a permit or meet a New Source Performance Standard under the Clean Air Act with respect to carbon dioxide or methane, except for the widely supported motor vehicle emission standards.

The senator’s legislation will be accompanied by similar legislation introduced to the US House by representatives Nick Rahall and Alan
