Senate upholds EPA carbon regulation powers
The US Senate has rejected a resolution by Alaskan senator Lisa Murkowski that would have prevented the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from regulating carbon dioxide emissions in the event that cap-and-trade legislation is not passed by Congress. The bipartisan resolution of disapproval failed by 47 to 53 votes yesterday.
