Legal experts identify end-user issues under new US act

US President Barack Obama signed legislation yesterday that will drastically change the face of the financial services sector and the derivatives markets. The wider effects of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act will also leak through to huge swaths of the economy, including energy and commodity companies. Users of hedging products in the sector must now wait for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to begin the rule-making process in order to assess how derivatives
