Power and gas markets are rapidly modernising in eastern and southeast Europe, but regulatory complexity, a lack of infrastructure capacity for renewables, and import/export tariffs in certain countries are dampening potential liquidity, according to participants at Energy Risk's central and eastern (CEE) Europe conference in Warsaw last month.
