Complying with looming, but unclear, regulation at a time when budgets are being squeezed is the tricky task facing many in the energy trading business at the moment. With the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission delaying its vote on the controversial swap dealer definition under Dodd-Frank until later this month, energy firms are still no closer to knowing whether they will have to comply with some of the more onerous requirements of the Dodd-Frank Act, such as capital collateral
