Q&A: Alberto Pototschnig, Acer

Pulling it all together

Europe

Alberto Pototschnig is a busy man. As the first director of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (Acer), he is responsible for spearheading the integration of energy markets across the European Union (EU). In part, that goal is enshrined in the EU’s Third Energy Package – a bundle of legislation passed in 2009 that dictates how the process of developing a single market should move forward. It also created Acer, which was officially launched in Ljubljana in March 2011.
