Turning points: Jill Sommers, CFTC

After five and a half years at the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), commissioner Jill Sommers plans to quit her job at the end of March. Her resignation announcement came as a surprise to market observers – she was still in the middle of her second term – and it was lamented by many market participants, who had come to see her as a consistent advocate for industry concerns about the Dodd-Frank Act.
