Ferc won’t appeal Hunter ruling, says Wellinghoff

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) will not appeal a ruling against it in an attempt to fine Brian Hunter, a former trader at defunct Connecticut-based hedge fund Amaranth Advisors, according to the agency’s Washington, DC-based chairman, Jon Wellinghoff.

The ruling by the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which came on March 15, is the latest development in a turf war between Ferc and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
