Energy Risk Europe: Ofgem outlines UK power market changes

Change coming to UK power market, says Ofgem

The design of the UK wholesale power market is “no longer fit for purpose” and needs to be changed, according to Andreas Flamm, senior economist for wholesale markets at the UK Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem).

Flamm made the comments as he sketched out how Ofgem would seek to reform the UK power market, including specific changes being proposed for balancing arrangements, at Energy Risk Europe in London on October 9.
