UK competition probe will 'rebuild trust' says EDF Energy chief

Ofgem proposal to refer energy market to CMA supported by utility head

Vincent de Rivaz, the chief executive of EDF Energy, the UK arm of French electricity giant EDF, expressed his support for a full-scale investigation into the country's energy market on June 10.

“I welcome the proposal for a full Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation into the UK energy market,” he said, speaking at a conference in London hosted by The Economist. “We need this process to clear the air and rebuild trust.”
