Amerex launches consulting service

It will provide consulting services to institutional market participants, independent power producers, project developers and large industrial clients in North American energy commodities. AECS will provide assistance in creating hedge and risk management products in natural gas, electricity, emissions, RECs, coal, crude oil and refined products.

The division will be led by Kellie Metcalf who most recently worked at Fortis Bank. Metcalf and her team have a wide range of energy transaction and structuring experience, including origination stints at banks as well as investor owned utilities and merchant generators.

Commenting on the launch, Clay Davis, president of Amerex Brokers, said: "AECS is a natural extension of our existing brokerage business. We have felt for some time that the market was calling for this type of non-principal transaction and consulting service.
