Statkraft strengthens presence in UK tidal power
Norwegian renewable energy company Statkraft has invested almost EUR5.1 million ($6.65 million) in tidal technology company Atlantis Resources, giving it a minority holding and exclusive negotiating rights in tidal projects initiated by Atlantis in the UK and Canada.
Statkraft and Atlantis will also collaborate on licence applications for Scotland's Pentland Firth, with licences to develop up to 700MW of marine energy due to be allocated by the Crown Estate in 2009.
