Nymex's death knell to floor?

H Electronic trade in physically settled energy futures contracts will take place along side pit trade at the New York Mercantile Exchange in the second quarter of 2006. Currently, electronic trading on the exchange's Access platform takes place only when its trading floor is closed.

Nymex president James Newsome said that electronic trading of Nymex's full-sized, floor-traded contracts "will be the perfect complement to our robust and liquid open outcry markets."
