Making green with ethanol
Last year saw a strong US corn crop: the harvest totalled a near record of 11.11 billion bushels (bbu). 50% of the annual crop is used as livestock feed. But currently, the next largest use of corn is its distillation into ethyl alcohol (ethanol) for use as a fuel additive.
