ComEd seeks distance from parent

Commonwealth Edison is distancing itself from its regulated utility parent Exelon, to fight Illinois government moves to prevent it charging customers above market rates from 2007, when the state's deregulation completes.

To that end it is bringing in an entirely new board and a new slate of ComEd officers, all free of ties to Exelon. The power supplier's new executives are Frank Clark, chairman and chief executive; Barry Mitchell, president; John Costello, chief operating officer, Bob McDonald
