CME launches cleared OTC agricultural options
Clearing will be available through CME Clearport and the contracts are listed by the CBOT and subject to its rules and regulations. Cleared OTC agricultural commodity option market participants must also have a net worth of at least $10 million and meet other regulatory requirements set by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The exchange will launch 10 OTC cash-settled options products for clearing: European- and Asian-style options on corn, wheat, soybeans, soybean meal and soybean oil.
