Sonatrach CEO probe not affecting exports

"Day-to-day operations will continue, even if the head of upstream is removed," says Samuel Ciszuk, energy analyst for the Middle East & North Africa at research group IHS Global Insight. "The only problem that arises is for the different contracts in negotiation at the moment and of course the projects that Sonatrach are partnered or involved with," he says. "This can lead to a delay in finishing times, but it does not necessarily mean the projects will be stopped, just heavily scrutinised."
