US energy secretary says clear clean energy signal needed

Speaking at the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) 2010 Energy Conference on Tuesday, Chu called for energy legislation to be passed quickly to stimulate interest and investment in the US energy industry. “Clean energy needs a rapid, large-scale deployment of technology and the right policies are needed to stimulate that,” Chu said. “But right now the relevant legislation is on hold and so the capital is also on hold.”
