EU consultation provokes debate on future of energy market

Regulators and market participants think about priorities for 2025

In theory, 2014 was supposed to be the year when ambitious plans for a single market in energy across the European Union would be completed.

During recent years, the Ljubljana-based Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (Acer) has been working with national regulators and transmission system operators (TSOs) to develop closer ties between the continent's electricity and natural gas markets. That work has taken place through initiatives such as the development of network codes
