UK onshore wind projects struggle
BP's recent withdrawal from plans for a six-turbine onshore wind farm in Kent could signal the start of a pull-back from onshore wind investment in the UK by energy companies, who are setting their sights on US projects.
"Compared with the scale of projects in the US, with several hundred turbines, the UK can't compete in terms of funding or management," says BP spokesman Robert Wine.
