CBOT announces launch of corn-based ethanol contract

Hot on the tails of Nybot’s new sugar-based ethanol contract, the ChicagoBoard of Trade will launch a corn-based ethanol contract in the fourth quarterof this year.

Not designed to compete with Nybot’s offering, the CBOT product will mostlyappeal to US producers and worldwide consumers of ethanol, used as an additiveto gasoline to make a cleaner-burning fuel.
