Enel launches renewables arm

Enel Green Power incorporates all of Enel's wind, solar, geothermal, run-of-the-river hydroelectric and biomass fields businesses in Europe, North, Central and South America.

The integration gives Enel Green Power a generation output of 17 billion kWh of power and almost 4,300 MW of installed capacity.

"Renewable sources can give an important contribution to the security of energy supply as well as to the quality of the environment," says Francesco Starace, head of Enel's renewable energy division
