Obama: 80% US power from clean sources by 2035

US President Barack Obama called for 80% of America's electricity to come from clean energy sources by 2035 in his annual State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday evening.

The money to fund the research and development of clean energy technology should come from eliminating "the billions in taxpayer dollars" given to oil companies, according to Obama.  "I don't know if you've noticed, but they're doing fine on their own," he added.
