Biomass exchange: catalyst for European renewables?
Energy exchange operator APX-Endex plans to launch a specialist biomass exchange on November 4, with physical delivery of the industrial wood pellet product into the port of Rotterdam.
The company's chief executive Bert den Ouden believes the exchange will make biomass trading more efficient, increase the ease of access for all kinds of players to take part, and provide biomass project developers with a more long-term liquid market to rely on.
