Competition for power supply contracts is fiercer than ever in Texas, particularlysince high natural gas costs are forcing power prices up and squeezing energycompany profit margins. As a result, some of the major suppliers – whichinclude Constellation NewEnergy, Reliant, Tractebel Energy Services and TXU – wantto increase their foothold in the smaller end of the market, often seen as aparticularly profitable area.
