Former Enron executive pleads guilty

Forney, who entered his plea in San Francisco’s federal court, is the third Enron employee to plead guilty to manipulating the California electricity market. During his eighteen months at Enron he headed the company’s real-time power trading operations in Portland, Oregon.

The US Justice Department said Forney, 42, was the inventor of Enron’s “Death Star” trading scheme designed to inflate power prices.
