GE Energy to auction extra capacity

GE Energy Financial Services has announced its plan to auction the extra capacity created by a project it says will bolster the constrained electricity transmission grid serving New York City.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based subsidiary of General Electric plans to transfer an incremental 300 megawatts of capacity from the Pennsylvania/Jersey/Maryland (PMJ) Interconnection, the largest centrally dispatched electric grid in the world, to the federally regulated non-profit New York Independent
