Renewables call for transmission build
To date, 24 US states and the District of Columbia have legislated renewable energy portfolio standards. These states - 11 of which have set 20-25% renewables targets to be met by 2025 - consume half of all the electric power produced in the US.
Those targets are challenging, especially since demand for electric power in the US is expected to grow 30% by 2030. But even if sufficient clean sources of power can be generated to meet renewable portfolio targets on deadline, an equally pressing need
