Exchanges gradually gain pace

With credit problems gripping energy firms worldwide, the need for clearing and exchange solutions in Europe’s biggest power market led to a rash of proposals during the past year from brokers and existing exchanges alike. A consortium of German banks launched Clearing Bank Hannover (CBH), which aimed to become the central power clearing hub for Germany.
