Power struggle

Power market players and bureaucrats are locked in a battle over how best to liberalise Europe's electricity markets. While united in the overarching goal of greater liberalisation and transparency, there are tensions between a European Commission (EC) approach that primarily focuses on national measures, and a more regional approach to market integration favoured by many market participants.
