Trayport sees energy advantage in IPE’s online markets

Electronic trading systems provider Trayport has joined the connectivity battle on London’s International Petroleum Exchange (IPE). The IPE – now owned by an online market place, IntercontinentalExchange (Ice) in Atlanta, Georgia – intends to go fully online by the end of the year, removing its traditional open-outcry exchange format.

In order to retain neutrality and offer customers a choice of interface, the IPE has opened up its system to a number of independent software vendors (ISVs).
