The central-western European (CWE) market – which comprises Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg – is the hub of European power trading and has been at the forefront of plans to create a single European electricity market. Its development is, therefore, of key importance and, as such, it will be watched closely in the coming months to see how well it addresses the next set of challenges it faces.
