Weather trades on the rise

The Weather Risk Management Association's annual survey has revealed a sharp rise in the total notional value of weather trades. Weather traders wrote over $8.4 billion of weather contracts between April 2004 and March 2005, up from $4.6 billion during the corresponding 2003/04 period.
