VeraSun Bankruptcy Highlights Tough Ethanol Market Say Experts

“This is the biggest public company to file for bankruptcy within the ethanol industry and we are going to see this on a much larger scale from some of the smaller producers,” says Cory Garcia, equity research associate at financial advisory company Raymond James. “It is a result of the lack of profitability in this market right now. If ethanol and corn prices stay where they are, then these companies won’t make any money.”
