ICE/ECX launch carbon index
The European Climate Exchange (ECX) and ICE Futures have launched two indices for the carbon market, in response to requests from market participants.
The Emissions Index is a trade-weighted average of IPE ECX carbon futures trades in a particular contract month over the course of the trading day; and is published shortly after 5pm GMT, while the Emissions Morning Marker is a weighted average of all trades for IPE ECX carbon futures contracts traded within the 15 minute period from 9 - 9.15am GMT
