Hex launches weather derivatives

The Helsinki securities and derivatives exchange (Hex) has started trading weather derivatives. Hex’s weather risk contracts will take a similar form to those offered by the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (Liffe) – to date the only exchange-traded market for weather derivatives in Europe.
