Ex-UNFCCC chief: no legally binding agreement at Cop16

Energy Risk's special report - credit in energy markets

The ex-head of the UNFCCC says there will be no final legally binding agreement at the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16), which starts in Cancun, Mexico, today.

"The challenge for COP16 is to iron out the content of a future agreement and unstick key problems that remain unresolved," says De Boer speaking to Energy Risk. De Boer is now special global advisor for climate change and sustainability at advisory firm KPMG after moving from his role at the UNFCCC after four years.
