China at forefront of clean coal technology

At present in China, half of coal-fired power generation capacity is fitted with flue gas desulphurisation (FGD.) It is leading the way with one of the world's first pilot demonstrations of carbon capture and storage (CCS), located outside Beijing, as well as the 4,000 MW Yuhuan power plant which has set a global benchmark for the efficiency of coal-fired power plants.
