ECX, ICE launch emissions options
The European Climate Exchange (ECX) and Ice Futures are due to launch emission options (ECX CFI Options) in mid-October, subject to regulatory approval.
The ECX CFI Options will be traded on Ice Futures' electronic trading platform and LCH.Clearnet will clear all trades.
Subject to the Ice Futures regulations, market participants will also be able to use the exchange for swaps (EFS) mechanism to register OTC options contracts for clearing by LCH.Clearnet.
