ECX still trying to clear way for CERs

The launch of European Climate Exchange's (ECX) futures contracts for certified emissions reductions (CERs), which would be listed on the ICE futures platform, has been delayed, as ICE and London-based clearing house LCH.Clearnet decide who will clear the contracts.

The contracts were originally scheduled for a September 2007 launch, but will be delayed because, according to an ECX spokesman: "We are still having an internal issue on the contract specs; clearing is one of the outstanding issues
