No company has won two awards in the Energy Risk awards before. But last year was a particularly stunning year for the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex), and we feel the company stood out from the rest in both the categories it won.

It won the innovation award for its work on the ClearPort system, and the overall exchange of the year award for the records it set in 2003, its ambitious growth and diversification plans, and the launch of new electricity contracts, which fared well over
